Thank you for accessing the archives for the "Future of Energy and the Environment" lecture series. Please enjoy the audio and video presentations below. From unwinding the Peak Oil debate and demystifying the hydrogen economy to understanding the true costs of CO2 emissions, this diverse group of speakers provides a view into our energy and environmental future. You may also be interested in the University of Houston's website on Climate Change which was created by the Department of Futures Studies with a multidisciplinary board of faculty, students and administrators from the University and the Houston community.

Three different types of flies are available in these archives.

Video Files will open up in Quicktime and you will see the presentation as if you were there at the lecture.

Audio Archives are run in program called Wi mba which also displays the presentation slides but without video of the presenter. You will be asked to run a set up wizard for Wimba, if you have any technical difficulties with Wimba, please see the bottom of this page for directions on support.

11/06/07: Dr. Barry Lefer, Assistant Professor of Geo Sciences at the University of Houston on "Climate Change: Future Implications"

11/13/07: Barry Yoeman, of the Clinton Climate Initiative on "Slowing the Growth of Climate Change" and David Hitchcock of the Sustainable Transportation Programs at the Houston Advanced Research Center on "The Future of Transportation and Energy."
