The University of Houston ATT Technology Lab

Located in the University of Houston's College of Technology, the UH ATT Technology Lab (also known as the UH ATT Lab) was inaugurated in November 14, 2006 (see inauguration). The UH ATT Lab was the result of more than two years of collaboration between the University of Houston and Southwestern Bell Communications, Inc (now AT&T) in the areas of telecommunications, networks, and education. The purpose of the Lab is to serve as a hub for the international educational and research community and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information. To achieve its goals, the Lab has been equipped with state-of-the-art networking and communications equipment which include a campus-wide three-node SONET/MPLS and gigaethernet testbed that connects to four other UH research labs, wireless internet, and high-definition videoconferencing.

This connectivity enables the University of Houston and more especifically faculty of the College of Technology to expand research and training initiatives. The UH CoT Telecom Network, which links research labs such as ISGRIN, ISSnet, WON and the UH ATT Lab, will provide connectivity to the high-speed fiber optic networks via gigaethernet pipes. For more information about the network go to the network page.
