UH Six Sigma Certificate Program

Program Offerings

Target Audience

For individuals interested in obtaining Six Sigma training for the purpose of professional development in order to improve their skill set.

Course Description

Green Belt level training, which is taught in our graduate course entitled "Quality Improvement in Project Management." Enrollment in this course is concurrent with graduate students in our Project Management Master’s Program. Participants are not required to complete a quality improvement project as part of this course. However, if full certification is desired, after the completion of your project, a project review can be scheduled (additional fees apply for the project review).

The Green Belt level course provides training on how to use the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) process for projects within your organization. Lecture topics include many proven Six Sigma problem-solving methods and basic statistical tools, which are reinforced through hands-on learning exercises. As part of the training course, participants are required to complete a quality improvement project (concerning an issue chosen by your company).
