International Logistics Certificate


 


Offered in conjunction with the International Transport Management Association and the Center for Logistics and Transportation Policy


The certificate consists of 64 class room hours of learning provided by one-day and ½-day seminars offered by the University of Houston in the multiple areas of expertise needed to be an effective employee in the international supply chain.

These workshops and seminars include the following subjects:
  • Export procedures
  • Import procedures
  • Homeland Security
  • C-TPAT overview
  • Global Logistics
  • Global Management Issues
  • Finance and Costing
  • Regulations
  • INCOTerms
  • Letters of Credit
  • Drawbacks
  • FTZ
  • HTSUSA
  • Economics
  • Quality issues
  • Information Flow and Control
  • And other issues identified by industry.

    There will be three levels of certificates offered: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Acceptance in each level will be based on the attendee's level of expertise or the completion of the previous level's certificate.

    Holders of these certificates will provide evidence of additional knowledge that will make them valuable members of the workforce. Companies can use this certificate program to provide the necessary skill sets to increase their employees' value and improve their performance.

    Classes can be held on-site and customized to your needs. Seminars at UH will be offered on a regular schedule, based on feedback from industry. Subject matter will rotate, again, as the needs of industry are identified. Classes on a special subject can be requested.
