Computer Applications Technology Minor
The minor in Computer Applications Technology emphasizes computing in the work environment including experience with personal and client-server computing. The courses in the minor develop problem solving skills that can be applied to many different careers or professions. The minor is ideal for all majors including students in the University Studies Division.
The 18 semester credit hours minor consists of one required course (ITEC 1301) and a selection of five 2000 and 3000 level courses as indicated in the following course listing.
- ITEC 1301: Introduction to Computer Application Technology
- Students select any two (2) of the following courses:
- ITEC 2332: Information Technology Hardware and Systems Software
- ITEC 2334: Information Systems Applications
- ITEC 2337: Fundamentals of Information Security
- Students select any three (3) of the following courses (at least 9 SCH in a minor must be upper division):
- TRDE 3310: Introduction to Career Development and Planning
- ITEC 3325: Survey of Information Technology Applications
- ITEC 3358: Information Media for Organizations
- GRTC 3353: Visual Communications Technology
