Achievements of Faculty and Staff Members in our College

Carlo Deason elected to the Board of Directors of the Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association– North America

Carlo Deason in MontrealCarlo Deason, Academic Advisor III for the College of Technology, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association– North America, GLISA-NA, (legally known as the North American Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation) during the GLISA North America Delegate Congress that took place in Vancouver in late October. GLISA-NA is a non-profit society that was incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, in 2005. It is a membership-based, democratic, international association of North American GLBT sports teams, associations, and organizations that presently features more than 50 member organizations. Please visit their website at www.glisa-na.org. Carlo will serve a two-year term.

Carlo is deeply involved in the Houston area GLBT sports community. He is the Vice President of Team Houston, an organization that promotes sports and fitness in the Greater Houston GLBT community and Team Captain of the Lone Star Frontrunners. He dedicates many volunteer hours to the Houston running community, UH, and UH Athletics and is a highly valued team member of the College of Technology staff. Congratulations, Carlo!
