Tenure Track Assistant Professor in  Information Systems, Systems Security, and Healthcare/Bio-tech Informatics

Description:
The Department of Information and Logistics Technology (ILT) in the College of Technology (CoT) at the University of Houston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the area of information systems technology, system security, and healthcare/bio-tech informatics beginning Fall 2008.

Requirements:
Applicants should have an earned doctorate along with primary demonstrative knowledge, skills, and experience in information systems.  Interests and experience in information system security and/or healthcare/bio-tech informatics are favorably viewed. The successful candidate is expected to develop competitive research programs and participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching.

The ILT Department has over 700 majors and twenty-three full-time faculty members, along with a large staff. The department offers B.S. degree programs and an M.S. degree program. The B.S. programs are in Information Systems Technology, Supply Chain and Logistics Technology, and Technology Leadership and Supervision. The M.S. degree program is in Technology Project Management with specializations in Information Systems Security, Logistics, Clinical Research, and other disciplines. The department has a close relationship with the Abramson Family Center for The Future of Health within the CoT, including Abramson Research Faculty in the ILT department. 

The Department is experiencing strong growth and expects this trend to continue. Last year the Department hired three new tenure-track faculty members. More information about the Department can be found at tech.uh.edu/ilt/.

Application packets should include: (a) current vita, (b) five references, (c) the applicant's philosophy regarding the role of a faculty member with regard to teaching, and service, and (d) evidence of teaching and service activities and experiences, such as student evaluation of faculty performance, teaching portfolio, college or university service activities, and/or public and business service activities.
