Teaching Assistant Positions in Engineering Technology


 


Description:
The Department of Engineering Technology (ET) anticipates several Teaching Assistant (TA) positions for ET programs. The department currently offers Master of Technology degrees in Network Communications and in Construction Management. These positions are expected to be highly competitive; hence, the successful applicant will have an excellent academic background, excellent communication skills, and a strong desire to participate in the undergraduate instructional activities of the department and to excel in his/her chosen graduate field of study. In addition to a full-time graduate student course load of 9 semester credit hours during the fall and spring semesters, TAs are employed on a 20 hour/week full-time basis to assist in the instructional process of the Department as tutors, discussion moderators, laboratory assistants, practicum assistants, proctors, and graders. TAs receive a competitive monthly stipend. Continuation of the appointment for a second year is contingent upon funding availability, satisfactory academic progress towards completing the masters program, and satisfactory performance as a TA. This is a 9-month appointment. TA appointments in the summer term and other forms of Graduate Assistantships including Research Assistantships may also be available subject to funding and summer course offerings.
