Program Articulation

Transferring your credits to the College of Technology

The College of Technology is pleased to have articulation agreements with Lone Star College System (formerly North Harris Montgomery Community College District), San Jacinto Community College District, and Houston Community College. The agreement provides a smooth curriculum transition for students, allowing them to transfer from the community college to UH without loss of credits or duplication of coursework. Typically, up to 66 lower-division credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education may count towards the Bachelor of Science degree.

The College currently has five baccalaureate programs that articulate:

Human Development and Consumer Sciences:

Information and Logistics Technology:

For Information and Logistics Technology programs, download the Articulation Workbook for a list of programs available for articulation from Lone Star College System and San Jacinto Community College District. Information in this document is valid for program start dates before January 9, 2009.

For Human Development and Consumer Science programs, a list of programs available for articulation from Houston Community College can be viewed here.

Students who have completed, or are in the process of completing an Associate of Applied Science degree in one of the approved programs listed on the attached curriculum guide may transfer the specific course credits indicated in the articulation workbook.

Courses in the area of technical concentration (i.e. the major) with a grade of "C" or better will be accepted for transfer to UH. A course in the area of technical concentration that was completed with a grade of less than "C" will not transfer and will have to be repeated. Any grade earned in an academic course that is below "C-" (1.67 on a 4.0 GPA scale) is not transferable or applicable towards degree requirements. Continuing Education course work cannot be transferred.

Students who wish to transfer must first meet all UH admission requirements. Please contact Transfer Admissions for questions. Students interested in transferring to UH should contact the College Academic Advising Center before completing an admission application.

For questions about Information and Logistics Technology articulation, please contact Mr. Jerry Pyka, Director of Programs at 713-743-3741, or jpyka@uh.edu.

For questions about Human Development and Consumer Sciences articulation, please contact Ms. Boi-Yeanoh Adams, Program Manager at 713-743-4015, or btadams@uh.edu.

An articulation agreement with other community colleges is forthcoming.
