Giving to the College of Technology

The College of Technology strives to provide students, alumni and the greater Houston community with expertise in areas of technology and consumer science. One of the earliest colleges to be established at the University of Houston (in the 1940s, to provide radar testing for the U.S. Navy), college faculty and staff consider it their mission to combine practical knowledge with business and leadership skills.

Although UH is a state-supported university, less than half of funding needed for operations comes from the government. Private support from individuals, corporations and foundations is crucial to ensure funding for many needs, including scholarships, faculty support and equipment for hands-on laboratories. Giving to the college is a long-standing tradition since community philanthropists and businesses came together nearly 70 years ago to raise more than $100,000 needed to build what is now the Technology Annex building, the third building constructed on the University of Houston campus.

As a donor, you play an integral role in the life of the College and the future of the professions its students enter. Your investment, whether a one-time gift, endowment or planned gift, will pay dividends well into the future.
