Welcome to the Organization for Training and Development!
The Organization for Training and Development (OTD) is a student organization
that was re-founded in 2004 by graduate students in the Former Training and Development program (now Human Resources Development)
in the UH College of Technology.
Its purpose is to enhance students' professional development by offering seminars,
workshops, and monthly meetings. The organization offers the opportunity to meet
professionals in the Human Resources Development field and to enrich
the extracurricular learning experience. OTD's mission is to provide a growth
environment to help students network with professionals and experts, explore
opportunities, and be kept updated about university/college/program happenings.
History
The Organization for Training and Development
was founded by Florencia Gutierrez Meiller and
Tracie Mellen in the Spring of 2002.
The Master in Occupational Training (MSOT - now Masters in HRD)
did not have any student organizations before this.
Dr. Thomas Arcy and Dr. Marcella Norwood accepted the responsibility of
being the faculty advisors.
In the Fall of 2004, The OTD was re-organized and re-formed by Dr.
Consuelo Waight and newly appointed president Chris A. Cheatham.
The new OTD officers have attended the orientation session from the
UH Campus Activities organization and OTD is once again an active
